  • TableLarge facet in the center of the crown of a polished diamond
  • Table PercentageFor round brilliant cuts, the size of the table expressed as a percentage of the average girdle diameter. On fancy cuts, the size of the table expressed as a percentage of the narrowest girdle diameter or width
  • Tapered BaguetteModification of the rectangular baguette in which one end is narrower than the other
  • Thermal ConductivityAbility of a material to transfer heat. Diamond’s thermal conductivity is the highest of any material
  • Thick GirdleGirdle which is obvious to the unaided eye and is thicker then what is needed to prevent chipping. The extra thickness simply adds weight to the finished stone
  • ToneDegree of darkness or lightness of a color
  • Total Depth PercentageThe depth from the table to culet, expressed as a percentage of the average girdle diameter in round brilliant cuts, and in fancies as a percentage of the girdle width. Most diamonds today have a depth between 53 and 63 percent
  • Total WeightCombined weight of all the diamonds set in a given piece of jewelry
  • Treated DiamondA diamond whose appearance has been altered by any unnatural, post recovery process such as irradiation or fracture filling
